My personal dog story
I grew up in the country with two Black Labrador Retrievers of my own and my neighbour’s three dogs. A Belgian German Shepard, a Wheaton Terrier and a Pekinese, (who was on the less friendly side). Not having any siblings until I was almost five years old – these dogs became my play mates. Throughout the rest of my childhood I had the pleasure of living with a Cocker Spaniel, and a Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix.
Today…
My family and I adopted a Whippet/Jack Russell Terrier mix. As loud and sometimes overwhelming as Rosie can be, we are smitten with her and couldn’t imagine life without her.
Where does jewellery fit in?
My personality revolves around being creative. Making all kinds of art, learning everything I can. I spent a lot of time and money learning how to make jewellery. After a friend introduced me to felting, my creative juices were flowing and I designed a small collection of felted jewellery.
Something wasn’t quite right.
I need to be creative and make a difference in other peoples’ lives. So, while brushing my sister’s Saint Bernard I discovered I could felt dog fur. I was off and running.
This is my purpose!
I get to create a wearable keepsake for dog owners. Jewellery made with their dogs’ fur.
Jewellery that celebrates the relationship between dogs and their owners.
