I am so excited to start making a wearable keepsake for a ‘mom friend’ from my son’s school. I had the pleasure of meeting Katie several years ago.
More recently, when my friend stopped bringing Katie after school, I questioned how she was doing.
“She is getting older, but she’s good.”, she said.
I told my friend about my idea.
I love to see the all the different colour variations that can come from one dog. It also makes for more interesting beads.
Just as you would imagine, the Saint Bernard travels long distances, through blizzard conditions to save someone stranded and in desperate need of help. My sister and her family see this caring, protective trait in their dog – Sadie. Every morning she waits until everyone goes downstairs, then she goes down for breakfast. She is a big cuddly bear of a dog who needs a love seat all to herself! Sadie is my cover girl. Her droopy, furry face appears on my business cards and website. She is the first dog I collected fur from to create a necklace for my sister as a birthday gift.
I’ve been working on making more samples. Thought I would share the before and after.
